About the Event
China is set to host the inaugural World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG) in Beijing from August 15-17, 2025. This pioneering competition will showcase humanoid robots competing in multiple sports disciplines, demonstrating advanced capabilities and complex movements at the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (Beijing E-Town).
The event will gather over 100 international teams, representing the cutting edge of humanoid robotics and embodied AI. The games aim to catalyse innovation, push technological boundaries, and highlight the practical applications of humanoid robots across various sectors.
Competitions
The WHRG features an impressive array of competitions across three primary categories:
- Athletics: Robots will vie for supremacy in track and field events (100m, 400m, relay), hurdles, long jump, high jump, and free gymnastics.
- Ball Games: Team-based contests including 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 football matches, alongside basketball and badminton competitions.
- Scenario-Based Challenges: Robots will demonstrate real-world capabilities in simulated environments such as factories, hospitals, and homes. Events include martial arts, dancing, and service-oriented challenges.
The WHRG is strategically scheduled to follow the 2025 World Robot Conference (WRC), taking place in Beijing from August 8-12.
