Wendy Labs Open-Sources Physical AI OS to Tame Edge Devices

Wendy Labs Inc. has just pulled the curtains back on Wendy, an open-source command-line tool and development platform they’re boldly branding a “physical AI OS.” The pitch is simple: to take the notoriously soul-crushing process of coding for edge hardware—think NVIDIA Jetson or Raspberry Pi—and transform it into something that actually feels like modern cloud development. In short, it’s designed to stop you from tearing your hair out over cross-compilation toolchains.

Wendy serves up a unified CLI for building applications in Swift, Python, Rust, and TypeScript, automatically wrapping them in Docker containers before deploying them to ARM-based devices. Its real party trick is abstracting away those messy architectural differences, allowing developers to hammer out code on a native macOS or Linux machine and push it to the target hardware with a single command.
