Shanghai’s robotics powerhouse Agibot has just hit a milestone that should make the rest of the industry look nervously over its shoulder. The firm has officially clocked up its 20,000th robot off the production line—a staggering feat for a company that only opened its doors in 2023. This landmark unit, a high-spec A3 Ultra humanoid, wasn’t just tucked away in a warehouse; it was personally delivered to the Chimelong Group to spearhead a 300-strong robotic army being deployed across a massive theme park.
This large-scale rollout is taking place at the Chimelong Spaceship Park in Zhuhai, a venue that already boasts Guinness World Records for being the largest indoor theme park on the planet. According to the partners, this fleet of over 300 robots will be woven directly into the guest experience. We’re talking everything from live stage performances and science demos to acting as tour guides, retail assistants, and hotel concierge. This isn’t a mere tech demo; it’s an all-out robotic takeover of the tourism sector, backed by a dedicated 5G-A network to keep the collective “hive mind” firing on all cylinders.
Why should we care?
To put Agibot’s output into perspective, the International Federation of Robotics noted that only around 7,000 humanoid robots were sold globally in the entirety of 2025. For Agibot to hit 20,000 units produced—doubling its tally from 10,000 as recently as March 2026—points to a manufacturing velocity that few, if any, rivals can currently touch.
Of course, a pinch of salt is required here. That 20,000 figure covers all robots produced by the firm, not just the headline-grabbing humanoids, and “produced” is a distinct metric from “sold and deployed.” Nevertheless, the Chimelong project marks a significant shift away from sterile factory pilots. It’s a massive, real-world gauntlet for human-robot interaction in a chaotic public environment, providing Agibot with priceless data on how their machines handle the unpredictability of tourists desperately hunting for the nearest loos.
