Bionic butterfly: unsettlingly real

Just as you were dusting off that engineering degree, feeling rather pleased with yourself, a whiz-kid college student in China went and built a bionic butterfly that flutters more gracefully than the real deal. It’s an absolutely cracking piece of biomimicry that leaves you scratching your head, wondering if you should be utterly impressed or just a tad bit concerned about the future of robotic insects. The boundary between the organic and the engineered just got decidedly fuzzy, and frankly, a whole lot more delicate.
