LimX Dynamics’ advanced TRON 1 bipedal robot, it seems, was deemed a tad too understated for the modern world. So, what’s a cutting-edge robotics firm to do? Why, dress it up in a hyper-realistic dinosaur skin, of course! The upshot is a bona fide ‘walking attention-grabber’ – a proper showstopper, if you will – primed for cultural tourism. Though, to our discerning eye, it also rather brilliantly doubles as compelling evidence that the Jurassic Park franchise was less a warning, more a suggestion, in some quarters. This modular marvel, a true triumph of engineering, is kitted out to maintain rock-solid stability even when given a good old shove. A feature, we must confess, we’re rather chuffed about, though we’re all quietly praying no one’s bright idea is to put that particular stress test into practice on an actual T-Rex.
