The company that made its name by bringing robot dogs to the masses has evidently decided to corner the “aspiring supervillain” market with its new GD01 manned robot. Marketed as the world’s first production-ready manned mecha, this civilian vehicle is a bit of a curveball compared to their usual four-legged fare. Unitree’s polite request for owners to use the machine in a “Friendly and Safe manner” feels, quite frankly, like a triumph of hope over experience.
